Vinçotte has identified ASTM D6866 as part of the methodology for its OK Biobased certification program, which applies to all products made from renewable sources. A product’s biobased content percentage is determined through ASTM D6866, and this is indicated on the OK Biobased logo through a star system.
According to French company Aliapur, used tires are not wastes but are traditional solid fuels better than coal or petroleum coke. A three-year study by Aliapur’s Research & Development unit has proven what the French cement industry has known since the 1970s – used tires as fuels have high heat output with less environmental impact [...]
Belgian inspection, testing, and certification body Vinçotte has launched the OK Biobased eco-label to help manufacturers of biobased products inform consumers that their goods are from biologically renewable sources. Products eligible for the OK biobased eco-label include those made, wholly or in part, from materials of natural origin. Applicants are required to submit carbon 14 [...]
BMH Enviro’s Tyrannosaurus® heavy-duty crushers convert waste into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) that has 70% biogenic carbon according to CEN 15747, a method that can determine the renewable content of RDF. Using RDF with high biomass carbon content helps companies lower their greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and obtain more carbon credits in cap-and-trade programs.
Beta Analytic submitted a public comment to the Western Climate Initiative relating to the latter’s essential requirements for mandatory reporting final draft. Beta noted that sewage is not 100% biomass.
Beta submitted a comment on the question posed in Section 3.39 of the Renewables Obligation: DRAFT Fuel Measurement and Sampling Guidance document published in December 2008.
The European Union Emissions Trading Scheme uses CEN 15747 to monitor refuse-derived fuels and allows the use of ASTM D6866 to monitor various types of heterogeneous fuels. Under the EU ETS, large emitters of carbon dioxide within the European Union must monitor and annually report their carbon dioxide emissions.
Beta Analytic submitted a public comment regarding OFGEM’s consultation document on biodiesel and glycerol.
