ISO/IEC 17025:2005-accredited Beta Analytic, Inc., is one of the exhibitors at the 5th Annual Biopolymers Symposium to be held in Denver, Colorado, on October 11-13, 2010. Mauricio Larenas will be at the company’s booth in the exhibit hall to promote ASTM D6866 testing to biopolymer manufacturers, researchers, and product distributors. ASTM D6866 is a standard method used to measure the biobased content of products.
Around 40 expert presentations have been scheduled for this event. Topics include new technologies, development on packaging and consumer applications, market trends, new purchasing and procurement guidelines, current opportunities and challenges, initiatives in green chemistry and biopolymer use, green marketing and eco-labeling, and waste strategies for the biopolymer industry.
“To meet existing and prospective clients in one place is always a great opportunity. I am looking forward to talk about the benefits of ASTM D6866 testing to manufacturers and distributors, especially those interested in selling products outside the US. There are several ecolabels around the world that recommend, and sometimes require, ASTM D6866 testing,” Mr. Larenas says.
Also of interest at the conference will be the latest developments of the USDA BioPreferred Program, which will be presented by Deputy Program Manager Kate Lewis. The BioPreferred Program is the U.S. government’s initiative to advance the market for biobased products. Under the program, federal agencies are required to procure products with high biobased content.
