Groundwater Samples Shipping Instructions

Submitting groundwater samples for radiocarbon testing is easy.

Step 1: Collect one liter of groundwater inside a Nalgene bottle. Procedures on how to properly collect water samples can be found here. Place the bottle in a sturdy cardboard box with sufficient packing to ensure that it is not damaged during shipment.

Step 2: Fill out a data sheet for each sample and any required chain of custody or tracking documents that need to be returned. Download Beta’s sample data sheets here.

Step 3: Ship samples and data sheets by commercial courier or first-class mail.

Upon receipt of your water samples at the laboratory, a Beta representative will contact you by e-mail or fax to inform you of the samples’ safe arrival.

A Beta representative will also quote you a delivery date for the results (within 6-30 business days of receipt depending on the services requested).
