Beta Analytic, the world’s largest professional radiocarbon dating services provider, was awarded the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc., in 2008. The accreditation boosts the company’s reputation as a highly competent and reliable testing laboratory.
Beta Analytic is the first radiocarbon dating lab in the world that meets the high-quality standards established by the International Organization for Standardization for testing and calibration laboratories. The ISO/IEC 17025 status is the highest level of recognized quality any testing or calibration laboratory can attain.
The ISO 17025 accreditation covers the determination of (a) radiocarbon age/activity in archaeological, geological, and water samples via AMS or LSC; (b) stable isotope ratios of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen in organic and carbonate materials via IRMS; (c) biobased carbon content of natural range materials for any carbon-containing solid, liquid, or gaseous materials via ASTM D6866; and (d) bio-carbon content of solid materials like solid recovered fuels (SRF) or refuse-derived fuels (RDF) via CEN/TS 15747:2008 and CEN/TR 15591:2007.
With this accreditation, Beta continues its excellence in radiocarbon dating of archaeological, geological, groundwater, carbon emission, bioplastics, and biofuel samples.
