The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published a series of standards focused on the biobased carbon content in rubber and rubber products, including polyurethanes. One of the standards is:
ISO 19984-2 Rubber and rubber products — Determination of biobased content — Part 2: Biobased carbon content
This ISO standard is applicable only to raw materials and finished products made of rubber. For more details, please refer to the published copy on the ISO website — ISO 19984-2:2025, Part 2: Biobased carbon content (available for a fee).
SGS Beta is not affiliated with the International Organization for Standardization.
ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited SGS Beta provides biobased content testing as described under ISO 19984-2. The lab uses accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) to determine the biobased carbon content of rubber, including raw materials and finished products.
SGS Beta routinely reports results in 7 business days or less. A priority service is available for results required in 4 business days or less. Quality assurance reports are provided with results.
Customer service is available in English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
