• Maren Pauly – SGS Beta Scientific Research Associate

Maren Pauly is a natural scientist specializing in isotope geochemistry, applying stable and radiocarbon analysis to verify biobased content, substantiate sustainability claims, and support regulatory compliance across global markets. She completed her PhD in Natural Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin, following a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo in Canada. As a Scientific Associate at SGS Beta, Maren works with clients across packaging, plastics, fuels, cosmetics, and other biobased industries to translate laboratory results into defensible certifications, ESG reporting, and market-ready claims.

• Benjamin Kling – SGS Beta Policy Research Associate

Benjamin Kling is a Policy Research Associate at SGS Beta, where he supports the use of biogenic content measurements in regulatory frameworks worldwide. He holds BA and MA degrees from the University of Miami and joined Beta in 2022.

• Jessica Ballasi – SGS Beta Policy Research Associate

Jessica Ballasi is a Policy Research Associate at SGS Beta. She actively researches policy development relating to biogenic and biobased products worldwide. She joined Beta in 2023 and holds an LLM in International Law and Security from the University of Glasgow.
